As if You Needed More Reasons

Really get out there, the hat can distinguish you like nothing else, think of that dance floor not one person is going to notice your pants. You have to draw attention to that money maker. Which should be right below a well placed costume hat. But what is the bigger point? You have to have something to give away. Something you can trade for her number. Think of a guy in a suit what do the girls always end up with, his tie! Lets face you are going to much more enjoy seeing it on that girl you’ve got your eye on.

There are a ton of ways you can attempt to make an Optimus Prime costume. There are very few ways you can actually succeed. That is of course you buy one. I will show you how to make a pretty, and I mean pretty cool homemade Optimus Prime costume out of a little more than cardboard.

Materials:

• Go to your local hardware store and find some blue and red tape. (The blue tape is for your legs the red tape is for your chest.)
• Do you have gray swaetpants? You should. Everyone does. If you can get your hands on gray stretchy pants that is better. (Check thrift shops)
• A coardboard box

Step 1: Place cardboard on your legs (below the knee) then tape blue tape all over your leg to hold in place. (also tape your shoes, after if you want to be able to take them off) the tranformer costume will look more like Robin Hood without it.

Step 2: Take the body of the box and put it around your chest. Cover it with red tape and wrap it around yourself, or have someone wrap it around you. (It will look cooler if it is tight.)

Step 3: Wrap cardboard around your wrists up to your elbow and tape it with the blue tape.

Step 4: This is the hardest step. Look at the image and try and replicate the head. I found the easiest way to do this is to take 3 pieces of cardboard and tape them together to make the mohawk looking transformer head. The outfit will already rock, but the head sells it as a transformer costume.

Step 5: With a marker draw in what you see in the image to make the transformer costume really pop. the chest is key but adding accents to the arms will make it look cooler too.

This is how I made my tranformer costume and was the life of the party last Halloween. Side Note: If you are going to tape your ‘private’ area make sure you leave a flap or the ability to use the restroom otherwise you will end up stripping it off to pee.
